What the October 2026 banlist changes
1. Branded loses major engine and Extra Deck access
Branded takes several direct hits at once. Albion the Branded Dragon is now Forbidden, while Branded Opening and Branded in High Spirits are Limited. Branded players will need to rebuild their Fusion lines, reconsider ratios, and avoid copying pre-banlist lists card for card.
2. Decks have fewer universal answers to hand traps
Called by the Grave and Crossout Designator are now Forbidden, while Triple Tactics Talent is also removed. At the same time, Droll & Lock Bird is Limited. Combo decks lose two widely played protection cards, but the most punishing anti-search hand trap is less consistent too. Expect more emphasis on engine resilience, alternative extenders, and careful sequencing.
3. Several floodgates are gone
Anti-Spell Fragrance, Gozen Match, Rivalry of Warlords, There Can Be Only One, Secret Village of the Spellcasters, Spell Canceller, Amorphage Goliath, and Amorphage Sloth are all Forbidden. That removes many one-card lock situations and forces control strategies to win through stronger engines and interactive traps rather than broad restrictions.
4. Generic Extra Deck end boards become weaker
Bagooska, Dugares, Saryuja, Crystal Wing, Naturia Beast, F.A. Dawn Dragster, D/D/D Wave High King Caesar, and Varudras are among the generic or splashable Extra Deck tools now Forbidden. Many decks may remain playable, but their safest backup boards, combo bridges, or generic negates have changed.
5. Toon consistency takes a major hit
Toon Bookmark and Toon Table of Contents are both Limited. Toon lists can no longer rely on maximum copies of their best consistency cards, so players should test additional searchers, draw cards, and protection rather than simply reducing both cards to one and leaving the rest unchanged.
6. Sky Striker receives a smaller consistency ceiling
Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! is now Semi-Limited. The deck still keeps access to the card, but opening and recycling it becomes less consistent than before.
What Egyptian duelists should do now
- Check every Main, Extra, and Side Deck. The list applies across all three together.
- Replace illegal cards before your next local event. Do not wait until registration.
- Rebuild lines, not only ratios. Losing Albion, Bagooska, Dugares, or a generic negate can change the full combo route.
- Retest going second. With Called by, Crossout, and Triple Tactics Talent gone, old side-deck plans may no longer fit.
- Confirm the event format. This article covers the TCG Advanced Format, not Master Duel or the OCG.
Build a legal post-banlist deck
Use the Stiva Deck Builder to prepare your updated list and order the cards you need. Start by removing every newly Forbidden card, reduce Limited cards to one copy, and keep Semi-Limited cards at two copies maximum across the Main, Extra, and Side Deck combined.
