New Ghostrick RV02 Support: Complete Egypt Deck Guide

Ghostrick is back with five newly revealed cards in RV02, giving the theme faster access to its traps and Quick-Play Spells, a one-card route into an Xyz Monster, and a much stronger payoff in Ghostrick Master Alucard. For Egyptian Yu-Gi-Oh! players who enjoy control decks, Halloween themes, or anime-style builds, this is a useful reveal to study—but it is not yet a reason to buy blindly.

This guide explains what each new card appears to do, how the cards connect, what ratios are worth testing, and how to prepare a list without confusing a Japanese reveal with a confirmed TCG release. Card names and translated text may change before an English release.

Quick answer: what was revealed?

The October 31, 2026 reveal introduced five Ghostrick cards for RV02:

  • Ghostrick Lich — a Level 3 Zombie that sets a Ghostrick Quick-Play Spell or Normal Trap directly from the Deck.
  • Ghostrick Yoko — a Rank 2 Xyz Monster that can use one face-down Ghostrick as material and Special Summons another Ghostrick from the Deck.
  • Ghostrick Master Alucard — a Rank 6 upgrade with mass face-down removal and Spell/Trap negation.
  • Ghostrick Garden — a Field Spell that searches a monster and helps flip Ghostricks or supply Xyz material.
  • Ghostrick Art — a Quick-Play Spell that exchanges up to two Ghostricks for different names from the Deck.

The same announcement also lists multiple reprints, including Ghostrick Alucard, Ghostrick Angel of Mischief, Ghostrick Festival, Ghostrick Shot, Ghostrick Scare, and several Main Deck monsters. The reveal was reported by YGOrganization, which links to the official Japanese announcement.

Why this support matters for Ghostrick

Classic Ghostrick lists have always had powerful identity: monsters hide face-down, the deck interrupts combat and positioning, and its Xyz Monsters create unusual win conditions. Its problem has been speed. Drawing the wrong mix of monsters and interaction can produce hands that do not establish enough pressure before a modern opponent develops a board.

The new cards attack that weakness from several directions. Lich turns a summon or flip into immediate back-row access. Yoko converts a face-down monster into an Extra Deck play and then recruits from the Deck. Garden improves consistency. Art fixes awkward monsters in hand while placing the exact bodies needed for a follow-up. Master Alucard gives the theme a threat that can matter after the setup turn instead of merely prolonging the duel.

There is also a clear deck-building rule running through the cards: several effects lock you into DARK Special Summons for the rest of the turn. That restriction keeps the engine focused and affects which generic Extra Deck cards belong in the final list.

Ghostrick Lich: the new interaction bridge

Ghostrick Lich is a Level 3 DARK Zombie with 1500 ATK and 600 DEF. It cannot be Normal Summoned unless you already control a Ghostrick, so it is not a conventional starter by itself. When it is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up, it sets a Ghostrick Quick-Play Spell or Normal Trap from the Deck, and that card can be activated during the same turn. Afterward, you may only Special Summon DARK monsters for the rest of the turn.

The phrase “it can be activated this turn” is the important part. It means Lich can find active interaction rather than a slow card that must wait through the opponent’s entire turn. Depending on the final card pool and translated rulings, the best target may be Ghostrick Art for extension, Ghostrick Scare for disruption, or another searchable option that fits the matchup.

Testing recommendation: begin with two copies. Three may be correct in a pure list with enough reliable setup, but opening multiple copies before establishing a Ghostrick could be clumsy. One copy risks losing access after it is drawn or removed.

Ghostrick Yoko: turning a face-down monster into momentum

Ghostrick Yoko is a Rank 2 DARK Spellcaster Xyz Monster with 900 ATK and DEF. It normally requires two Level 2 Ghostricks, but it can also be Xyz Summoned using one face-down Defense Position Ghostrick with a Level. That alternative summoning condition is the card’s biggest contribution: a set monster is no longer only a defensive resource.

Yoko cannot be destroyed by the opponent’s card effects. Once per turn, it can detach one material to Special Summon a Ghostrick monster from the Deck, followed by the same DARK-only Special Summon restriction. It therefore converts one prepared monster into an Xyz body plus a chosen Ghostrick from the Deck.

That sequence helps establish the exact Level, Type, or effect needed for the next action. It can also put Lich onto the field for later flipping, provide tribute material for Ghostrick Art, or create another body for Link and Xyz routes that remain legal under the DARK lock.

Testing recommendation: start with one Yoko in the Extra Deck. Move to two only if the list regularly makes it in longer games or relies on the card as its primary bridge.

Ghostrick Master Alucard: a real control payoff

Ghostrick Master Alucard is a Rank 6 DARK Zombie with 2800 ATK and 2600 DEF. Instead of gathering three Level 6 monsters, a Ghostrick deck can discard one Ghostrick card and place Master Alucard over a Ghostrick Alucard it controls, transferring the existing materials. Master Alucard cannot be used as material for another Xyz Summon and cannot be changed to face-down Defense Position.

Its first interactive effect is a Quick Effect that detaches one material to destroy all face-down cards the opponent controls. This punishes set-heavy boards and works naturally with effects that force opposing monsters face-down. Its second response can detach two materials when a Spell or Trap is activated, negate that activation, and Set the card.

The second effect is unusual. Setting the negated card may let the opponent use it later, so timing matters. Negate the card that would break your board or decide the turn—not simply the first Spell or Trap you see. The effect is strongest when your follow-up can remove, lock, or pressure the newly Set card.

Testing recommendation: one copy is the sensible starting point because it is an Extra Deck payoff that depends on reaching Ghostrick Alucard first.

Ghostrick Garden: consistency before power

The new Ghostrick Garden is a Field Spell that can add a Ghostrick monster from the Deck to the hand once while it remains face-up. If a monster is sent to the Graveyard by an opponent’s card effect, Garden can either change one of your Ghostricks between face-up and face-down Defense Position or attach the top card of your Deck to a Ghostrick Xyz Monster.

The search is the reliable value. It can find the missing monster for setup, a follow-up Lich, or a name needed by Art. The reactive effect is more matchup-dependent, but both options support the deck’s core plan: flipping monsters to reuse effects and preserving Xyz materials for Yoko, Alucard, or Master Alucard.

Testing recommendation: start with two copies plus any legal Field Spell access that genuinely improves consistency. Three Gardens can become redundant because the search is once while the card stays face-up, not a fresh search every turn.

Ghostrick Art: hand fixing and precise recruitment

Ghostrick Art is a Quick-Play Spell that tributes up to two Ghostrick monsters from the hand and/or field, then Special Summons the same number of Ghostricks with different names from the Deck in face-up or face-down Defense Position. It also locks later Special Summons into DARK monsters. From the Graveyard during your Main Phase, Art can banish itself to flip one of your face-down Ghostricks face-up.

This card does three useful jobs. First, it converts monsters that are awkward in hand into exact names from the Deck. Second, it can dodge targeted interaction by tributing a threatened monster. Third, its Graveyard effect turns a Set monster’s flip effect on without waiting for battle or the opponent.

Do not automatically tribute two cards. A one-for-one exchange may be enough to preserve card economy, while the two-monster mode is best when it creates a decisive Xyz line, multiple flip effects, or a board that survives the opponent’s turn.

Testing recommendation: begin at three copies because Lich can Set it, it fixes hands, and the Graveyard effect gives additional value. Reduce it only if testing shows the tribute cost is too demanding.

A practical first testing core

Before official TCG legality and final English text are confirmed, use a simulator or clearly marked proxies for private testing. A reasonable starting package is:

  • 2 Ghostrick Lich
  • 3 Ghostrick Art
  • 2 Ghostrick Garden
  • 1 Ghostrick Yoko
  • 1 Ghostrick Master Alucard
  • Existing Ghostrick Alucard, Angel of Mischief, Festival, Shot, Scare, and the Main Deck names your line requires

Build the rest of the list around a clear goal. A pure control build should maximize reliable opening interaction and recovery. A hybrid engine must prove that its non-Ghostrick cards still function after the DARK lock. An anime-style list can favor character and theme cards, but it still needs enough starters to avoid passing on an empty field.

Three lines to test first

  1. Face-down monster into Yoko: prepare a Ghostrick face-down, use it as Yoko’s material, detach to recruit the monster that completes your board, then continue only through DARK options.
  2. Alucard into Master Alucard: establish Ghostrick Alucard, discard a spare Ghostrick to rank it up, and keep enough material for the interruption most relevant to the matchup.
  3. Lich into Art: summon or flip Lich, Set Art from the Deck, then use Art to replace an exposed or awkward Ghostrick with the exact monster required. On the next Main Phase, use Art’s Graveyard effect to trigger a prepared flip.

Record how often each line starts from a normal five-card hand, how many cards it consumes, and what the opponent can interrupt. A combo that works only after drawing three specific names should not define the final build.

Deck-building risks Egyptian players should watch

  • Release status: RV02 is a Japanese reveal. Do not assume a TCG date, rarity, product name, or local price until Konami confirms it.
  • DARK lock: check every non-DARK Special Summon in your Main and Extra Deck. Sequence those cards before the lock when legal, or remove them.
  • Normal Summon tension: Lich needs an existing Ghostrick, so count how many hands can actually establish the first monster.
  • Back-row exposure: a control board needs answers to mass removal and going-second pressure.
  • Import hype: avoid paying an inflated early price based only on reveal-day attention.

If you are testing for locals after the October list, compare your interaction suite with our October 2026 Side Deck guide and review the complete banlist rebuild guide before locking your ratios.

How to prepare the deck in Egypt

Start with a digital list and separate confirmed TCG cards from newly revealed cards. Test ten going-first hands and ten going-second hands. Note whether Lich is live, whether Art has a useful tribute, whether Garden adds a missing piece, and whether Master Alucard is realistically reachable. Then cut the cards that look exciting but do not improve those numbers.

You can map the full list with the Stiva Deck Builder. If the deck is for casual play, collection display, or private testing while waiting for official availability, Stiva Store also offers custom Yu-Gi-Oh! cards; always use legal, officially released cards for sanctioned TCG events.

Final verdict

The RV02 Ghostrick reveal is promising because it does not merely add stronger effects—it repairs the theme’s movement from face-down setup into meaningful board presence. Yoko creates momentum, Lich finds live interaction, Garden improves access, Art fixes hands, and Master Alucard supplies a credible payoff.

The correct move for Egyptian players is to test now and spend later. Confirm the final English text, TCG release, legality, and local availability before buying. If the cards arrive close to the revealed wording, Ghostrick should become smoother, more expressive, and much easier to build as a focused control deck.
