Konami has posted an official update for Theorealize Past Lull from Chaos Origins. The important part for players is simple: some English, Spanish, and Portuguese copies have incorrect text. The printed version refers to controlling an “Artmage”, “DoomZ”, or “Elfnote” monster, while the corrected text refers to controlling an “Artmage”, “DoomZ”, or “Elfnote” card.
That one word matters. If you are testing Artmage, DoomZ, Elfnote, or any Chaos Origins build in Egypt, make sure your deck testing uses the corrected wording before you lock a list for locals.
What Egyptian Players Should Do Now
- Check your copy: if your Theorealize Past Lull says monster instead of card, treat it as an affected copy.
- Play with the corrected text: in testing, rulings practice, and deck building, use the official corrected wording.
- Tell your testing group: avoid arguments during casual games by sharing the update before matches start.
- Keep affected copies safe: Konami’s replacement process requires the original card.
- Update deck notes: if your combo line changes because the requirement is broader, write that down before locals.
Why The Wording Change Matters
Yu-Gi-Oh! card text is exact. A requirement that checks for a monster is narrower than a requirement that checks for a card. The corrected version can matter when your field includes a relevant Spell, Trap, or other eligible card name category instead of only a monster.
For Egypt locals, this is most important in two situations: testing new engines from Chaos Origins and explaining a ruling clearly during a match. You do not want a game result to turn on outdated printed text when Konami has already clarified the intended wording.
Replacement Options
Konami says affected English, Spanish, and Portuguese copies can be replaced. The official notice says Duelists may exchange one affected card for two corrected cards of the same rarity. It also lists two routes: in-person replacement at Tier 3 events, starting September 2026 while supplies and event support apply, or contacting Konami Customer Service with a replacement request.
If you are in Egypt, the Customer Service route is likely the more realistic option unless you are travelling to an eligible Tier 3 event. Keep the original card in good condition and follow the official instructions from Konami rather than relying on screenshots or second-hand summaries.
Deck Testing Checklist
- Save your current list before changing anything.
- Mark every combo line where Theorealize Past Lull is live because you control a relevant card, not only a monster.
- Play five hands with the old assumption, then five hands with the corrected text, and compare how often it changes your line.
- Test against one fast combo deck and one control or backrow deck, because wording flexibility matters most under pressure.
- Update side deck notes if the corrected text makes the engine more consistent going second.
